Four world-renowned musicians have come together to form the group “Open Hands.” These refined performers are Abraham Laboriel, Justo Almario, Greg Mathieson, and Bill Maxwell. This instrumental jazz band combines native South American rhythms, American jazz, along with rhythm and blues to create a unique and sophisticated sound.

Robert Forster (currently on the TV show Heroes) came to a jazz club in Los Angeles, CA to hear the group. After the concert, he said, “I can't believe that such fantastic music comes out of your hands!” The guys replied, “The music doesn't come out of our hands. It comes out of our hearts. Our hands are just open to the music in our hearts." Thus, the name Open Hands.
